Using Desktop Accounting API
These terms govern your use of the Desktop Accounting API website and services. By using the services, you agree to these terms. If you use them on behalf of a company, you must have authority to agree on its behalf. For questions about these terms, contact us.
Authorized access
Only connect company files that you are authorized to access. You are responsible for obtaining the permissions you need from your customers and for the requests your application sends. Follow applicable laws and the terms that apply to your QuickBooks software.
Your account and credentials
Keep your account credentials and API keys secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe a credential has been compromised. Never send passwords or API keys through our contact form or support chat.
Acceptable use
Do not use the services to access data without permission, distribute malicious code, bypass access controls, interfere with other users, or violate the law. Do not probe or overload the services in a way that disrupts their operation. We may restrict access to address abuse or security risks.
Your data
You retain your rights in the data you submit or make available through your connected company files. You authorize us to process that data to provide the services and carry out your instructions. Our privacy policy describes how we handle personal information.
Your integration
You are responsible for validating the accounting operations your application requests and checking that the results match your business requirements. QuickBooks Desktop runs in a customer-controlled environment. Connection availability depends on that environment, its permissions, and the availability of the company file.
Intellectual property
Desktop Accounting API owns its website, branding, and service materials, apart from third-party materials and your data. These terms do not transfer ownership of them. QuickBooks is a trademark of Intuit Inc. Desktop Accounting API is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Intuit.
Availability and limitations
To the extent permitted by law, the services are provided as available, without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every integration outcome is error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Ending access
You can stop using the services and ask us to close your account through our contact form. We may suspend access when necessary to protect the services, respond to unlawful use, or enforce these terms. Privacy requests can be submitted through our privacy-request form.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The effective date identifies the current version. Where applicable law requires notice of a material change, we provide that notice. You can ask questions or raise concerns through our contact page.
